Equatorial Launch Australia Appoints Nina Patz as Head of Business Development

Equatorial Launch Australia (ELA) has announced the appointment of Nina Patz as its new Head of Business Development. ELA Group CEO Michael Jones expressed enthusiasm about Patz’s addition to the team, highlighting her role in advancing ELA’s ongoing discussions with international rocket companies and optimizing the company’s launch schedule through the end of the decade.

Jones stated, “As ELA continues to engage with global rocket firms, we are thrilled to welcome Nina aboard. Her expertise will be instrumental in finalizing contracts and delivering launch and spaceport services that meet our customers’ specific mission requirements. Nina’s appointment underscores our commitment to providing top-tier, full-service spaceport solutions.”

Patz joins ELA with a robust background in business development, most recently serving with Australian aerospace company Hypersonix Launch Systems. At Hypersonix, she played a pivotal role in securing a significant contract with the US Department of Defense through the Defense Innovation Unit in March 2023, outcompeting 62 global contenders.

Reflecting on her new role, Patz commented, “I am excited to join ELA at this pivotal moment. The company’s impressive track record and ambitious future plans present a unique opportunity, and I am eager to contribute to the growth of ELA’s customer base and the development of a state-of-the-art spaceport in northern Australia.”

Jones praised Patz’s previous work, noting, “We have had the pleasure of working with Nina in her prior role and have always admired her industry acumen and professionalism. We are fortunate to have her join us as we continue to expand our operations and capabilities.”

Patz’s appointment aligns with ELA’s strategic goals to enhance its market position and deliver innovative spaceport solutions to its global clientele.
